Animating album covers to show gifs and play snippets of their most popular songs. I only have a small vinyl collection, but picked 3 of my favorite albums from it - Dance Fever by Florence and the Machine, Harry’s House by Harry Styles, and Rumors by Fleetwood Mac.
I found jpeg images of each of the album covers to use as my image markers, and found the following gifs to play as the camera is over each image. I had a hard time finding gifs that were perfectly square to make the vinyl covers. I’d like to go back and readjust them so they fit perfectly.
Florence Welch in the “King” music video.
Harry Styles in the “As It Was” music video.
Stevie Nicks performing with Fleetwood Mac.
For sounds, I pulled quick snippets of “King” from Dance Fever, “As It Was” from Harry’s House, and “Dreams” from Rumors.
To add everything to my Lens, I followed these steps:
My Lens was quickly getting to be too big to publish, so I ended up removing the Harry’s House album from the mix.
For sound, I used the licensed song library inside of the Asset Library to find approved versions of the songs I wanted through Snapchat and added them to my Resources Panel.
I then brought the songs up into the Objects Panel as children of the Gifs.
In the Objects Panel, I added a behavior script to play the songs upon finding the Markers, and then another to stop the songs upon loosing the Markers.
