Updates from last semester:

• Main part of thesis is now the performance.
  • I have an overview of my story, working on writing the specific script now.
  • Thinking I will use the projectors in the audio lab (media commons)
  • Will be a merging of projection, immersive theater, and perhaps live show control by the actor (me) if it makes sense to with the story
  • Themes: transhumanism, cybernetics, speculative tech futures, and octopus. Perhaps also elephants and owls.
• As I build out my ideas, also considering how I can take aspects and assets to create smaller standalone installations that can be viewable and enjoyed without the presence of a live actor

Questions:

• What is the specific time frame for when projects need to be done-done?
• Who all needs to see my project in its physical, made form?
• If I want to do a live show and invite people from outside NYU, is that a big pain? I would specifically want someone else to check people in so I could be prepping and in costume.

Next Steps:

• Writing the script. Aiming to have a finished draft by 2/14
• Asset lists and beginning creation of assets
  • Exploring Max MSP / Touch Designer / Isadora for show control
• Visit the audio lab and get a better sense of everything I can do in there besides just project
• Visiting the Aquarium at Coney Island hopefully this weekend but maybe next
