Project Description: In teams of two or three, overlay an animated story or a piece of animated information (motion graphics) into the real world using Adobe After Effects, Aero, and augmented reality. Document the project in its intended location (screen record your phone). Upload documentation to your blog and answer the following questions.

- What is your project concept?
- I worked with Lita and Kay to create an AR garden-scape. Each foreground element is interactive and triggers a cute and calming animation.
- What was successful?
- Our animations are cute, we had fun making this, and learned Adobe After Effects and Adobe Aero so I am feeling pretty good!
- What would you do differently?
- If I had more time to work on this assignment, I would have wanted to make a more whole story with the worm and the plants. Unfortunately, we did not have the time in the past week to animate things further and play out a longer story.
- What did you learn from this assignment?
- I learned just how much time it takes to learn and master After Effects. It’s a program that has always intimidated me, and I am glad I had to start playing with it for this project. It has sparked many ideas for future visual projects that seem a lot more do-able to me now that I have a base level of knowledge and experience making work in it.
Process:
Create some assets for your project. You can use hand-drawn, cutout, or collage techniques. Think about the real-world location or setting this story might take place in and what assets you’ll need to create this animation. Post the storyboard to your blog and be prepared to present it in class. What are you trying to augment? Bring a 2D asset from your proposed animation to work with. Due November 1.
Storyboard:
We want to create a plant that grows when you open the project, and moves through the seasons as you interact with it. We don’t have the interaction details yet - we want to spend more time with Adobe Aero before we make a decision.
